Dive Experiences

Whether you're an experienced diver or always wanted to try it, the freedom and accessibility of the clear waters surrounding Bonaire means there is something for everyone. Day or night, shore or boat, West coast, East coast, every dive is an opportunity to experience adventure.

"There is something for everyone!"

Shore Diving

Yellow markers can be seen up and down the calm Bonarian coastline. Each shore entry is maintained by the Marine Park rangers. Plan your dive, pull over from the road, gear up and walk in. If you’re new to shore diving, gain confidence and experience with the PADI Shore Diver Specialty Course.

Boat Diving

While over 50 markers indicate entries to reef along the mainland shoreline, Klein Bonaire, a small, protected, uninhabited island, lies tantalizing nearby on the horizon.  Boat dives, departing from the Sand Dollar dock, offer both the pleasure of an offshore excursion, along with the opportunity to mingle with dive crew and other divers. Join  Dive Friends for a fantastic morning with two dives, or a lazy afternoon with one dive.  Be sure to look out for dolphins too!

East Coast Diving

While the majority of diving happens on the sheltered west coast, for a bucket list experience, sign up for a morning out with East Coast Diving. They are the only operators on the East Coast, taking just 10 divers per day out to Turtle City. This world-class dive site is one of only three places in the world to see an extraordinary number of turtles underwater ( 50 or more in a morning).

Night Diving

Nighttime diving is so easy and convenient. From the apartment to the reef in seconds! For added excitement, the large tarpon often join you as they hunt their prey. Be sure to schedule a visit to coincide with the ostracods. This amazing underwater light show is created by microscopic shrimp communicating with each other.  Happening a few nights every month after the full moon, this is one of the very few life experiences that cannot be photographed or captured on video. This phenomenon is extremely rare in the world, and Bonaire divers are treated to one of the best shows in nature.
