Bonaire Voted # 1 Dive Destination!

We have much to celebrate this year, and have many of you to thank, as once again your voting lead to Bonaire being named the Top Rated Overall Dive Destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic, according to the Scuba Diving magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards for 2007 and 2008.

Making it even more exciting is the fact you have helped us achieve this award an unprecedented six years in a row! Bonaire also received the #1 rating in five other Caribbean/Atlantic categories: Top Shore Diving Destination, Top Destination for Underwater Photography and Top Destination for Beginners, Top Destination for Advanced Divers and Top Destination for Marine Life.

Our guests contributed to Sand Dollar edging out ALL other Bonaire properties with the top ranking resort rating of 96.9% reader satisfaction. Sand Dollar received a special "thumbs up" for our spacious condos; grocery stocking service and ice cream parlor (Lover's, located in the Sand Dollar mini mall directly in front of the resort!) Dive partner Bonaire Dive & Adventure received a rating of 96%.

Bonaire is also celebrating increased airlift from the US for the second year in a row, as Delta Airlines prepares to join the list of US carriers now serving the island. Effective February 9th, Delta will operate weekly non-stop flights from Atlanta to Bonaire. The flight will leave Atlanta at 10:00 AM, and arrive in Bonaire at 3:20 PM. The return flight will depart Bonaire at 4:15 PM and arrive in Atlanta at 7:45 PM.

KLM continues to fly direct from Amsterdam to Bonaire several times weekly, while a host of major US and International airlines provide direct service into either Curacao or Aruba. Getting to Bonaire from our sister islands is easier than ever when taking connecting flights on the Dutch Antilles Express or Tiara Air. Late Night Dining Options for Sand Dollar Guests

In addition to bar style dining for lunch and dinner at SunRise Restaurant, Sand Dollar guests arriving on American Eagle or other late evening flights will be pleased to know they can now pre-order dinner from the neighboring Reef Restaurant and have a hot meal waiting for them when they reach the resort, even if it is after he restaurants closing hours.

You can also get a 10% discount off of your entire week’s restaurant bill at The Reef Restaurant only simply by opening a tab with them at the beginning of your stay. Or take advantage of sand Dollar's grocery stocking service and we’ll make sure your cold drinks, snack and staples are in your apartment when you arrive.
